I have off and dad too, Leni and Hanni have to go to school. At home we get everything ready for Turkey. As promised, Hanni may cut dad’s hair. She opts for a short hairstyle with BD logo for Big Daddy at the back. In the evening there is a school concert of Hanni and Leni in the City Theatre. Hanni plays horn and Leni plays tuba. So, it is now time for the Report of our third Dolphin Therapy, from 09.09 – 23.09.2011, in the ONMEGA Dolphin Therapy Center in Marmaris, Turkey!
After the very, very good experiences we had in the Dolphin Therapy Center in 2008 and 2009, we were certain that we would return. In December our bookings were made and we were already looking forward……
On 09.09.2011 at long last the time had come, the aircraft flew us south, to the dolphins !!
As Leon had his therapy bicycle with him this time, we had booked a special Transfer through the Therapy Center, which worked very well. After a short wait we drove from the airport in Dalaman straight to the Club Turban Hotel in Marmaris. We were so pleased with the Hotel last time we decided to stay there again. Everything there is suitable for children and the disabled, and the staff is really kind.
The weather was, apart from 2 rainy afternoons, super; sunshine and a temperature of 40°C, not so hot as in July. Just right for us after the bad Summer we had at home.
After 2 days relaxing on the beach, on Monday we started Leon’s therapy program. We had met Barbara on the platform the day before….. Leon recognized Barbara straight away, we were all happy and the atmosphere was warm and friendly as it had been in previous years. As if we had never left. Read the rest of this entry
News from our dolphin family, Flip with Daisy and Splash with Frosia, making amorous advances.
For the first time, and in the hope of pairing, the Onmega Therapy Team in Marmaris opened the gates of all three sea-water pools, which contain 3500 cu.m. and 15 Mio.L. of natural sea-water, so that all four dolphins were together.
Our rascal Splash, 9 years old, just out of puberty, straightaway angled the lovely and clever virgin Frosia, 14 years old, and is trying with sporty fervour to win her favour and solve his testosterone problem. Read the rest of this entry
it seems only yesterday that we returned home from the Dolphin therapy, but in reality nearly two months have passed. We are very thankful for what you did for Kirill during the course. Kirill has progressed a lot since that! He is much more coordinated now, goes on stairs alone, without any help! He tries to jump, rides bicycle (!) and even tires riding scooter (!!) – that’s something I couldn’t even imagine! Also, he helps himself during the meals – eats with a spoon and with a fork (awkwardly, but still he does it!)
The seriously disabled Janik Schröder from Bad Ditzenbach in Germany took part in Dolphin Therapy in Turkey for 2 weeks. This was made possible through donations – also from GZ readers.
Article from Geislinger Newspaper, 16.07.2010, Author: Claudia Burst
“Schblasch”, answered Janik Schröder beaming at the question to what “his” dolphin was called. This “Splash” had decisively contributed to the fact that Janik can now live with more self-confidence. The eleven year old boy from Bad Ditzenbach was with his Grandparents for two weeks in Marmaris, Turkey, for Dolphin Therapy.
This expensive therapy was first made possible through many generous donations. Read the rest of this entry
Seriously disabled girl from Unterspiesheim has returned from dolphin therapy
The presence of dolphins triggers joy, happiness, laughter and peace and has a healing effect on so many patients that before was held for impossible. The latest example is the progress that Jasmin Götz from Unterspiesheim, seriously disabled and blind, has made working joyously with the dolphins. The 17 year old has now returned with her parents Hedwig and Uwe from dolphin therapy in Turkey.
Jasmin’s mother is still feeling the effects of the two strenuous weeks in the Onmega Dolphin Center near Marmaris, but her daughter has made very successful progress. The dolphins swim in azure blue sea water in a sheltered cove.
Hedwig Götz: „Jasmin has made a lot of progress. From the very beginning she adjusted well and was happy, she laughed and one could tell that she felt just fine. Altogether our stay there was absolutely great. Everyone was so friendly to us. “ Read the rest of this entry
Dear Axel, Dear Paul, Dear Andrea!
We visited you last year in July with our Nikolas to swim with the dolphins. Perhaps you remember, Nikolas was five and a half and asked whether he could swim with Splash and you said yes! We are very thankful for this because he is fascinated with dolphins even more than before, and we are too!!! He often speaks about Splash and what a wonderful experience it was for him!
How are you all and the dolphins? We are often thinking of you all. ,
I am sending you a few photos showing Nikolas and our friend
Sieghilde swimming with Splash! And also some showing our experience with Splash, simply unforgettable!!!
Hearty greetings to your whole team and also to Splash!!!

Therapy report from Anna Strahl, 8 years old
Therapy from 29.09.08 – 13.10.08
THANKYOU to Barbara and the whole TEAM!!!!!
We had an unforgettable and also for us parents an instructive time in Turkey with the Onmega Team and the dolphins. ( http://www.delphintherapie.net/ ) Our outward journey was strenuous because Anna didn’t want to sit still. But still it worked better than we had imagined. (we were a little anxious about the long flight and the 90 minute bus transfer)
From the very first second we felt at home in the Hotel Mares. Everyone was so kind and friendly. Read the rest of this entry
