Dolphins in a tiny pool in Hisaronu near Fethiye

Unbelievable! Scandal of dolphins in 11 by 22-metre tiny pool. The animals are held in Hisaronu near Fethiye, Turkey by Russian businessman Aleksandr Kuznetsov and is supported by local mayor Keramettin Yilmaz. We condemns in the strongest and demand the immediate release!

The Sun reports:

The animals arrived at Hisaronu in the back of a refrigerated truck after a hellish four-hour ride from a dolphinarium in Kas on the Mediterranean coast. [...] Mr Kuznetsov, who is still awaiting a licence for his venture, said: “Hisaronu needs something like this, otherwise tourists only have bars and restaurants. “Some local foreign residents have complained, but the majority of tourists will be excited.”

Btw, the media reports mistakenly from the city Hisaronu near Marmaris. However, in fact it is Hisaronu near Fethiye!

There is a facebook group with over 10.000 members to help the two dolphins. Please go to their page where you will find further information how you can help.

A responsible approach to people, animal and nature is very important to us. Generally we request the ban of show dolfinarium. Further information and backgrounds about animal assisted therapy with dolphins in Marmaris at Onmega.
